Recently we had one of our most popular post ever. It was a pair or Deadpool Nikes whose artists we were unable to trace. In the middle of that we had another very talented artist approach us to share his work with us. He goes by Sekure D and he is an artist with love for shoes and all the nerdy that most of us grow up with. I had a blast going through his Instagram and Facebook pages checking out his work and bookmarking the best to share with you here. A few email back and forth we got to know Sakure D a little bit better. In a nut shell, he is a down to earth artist whose work has granted him thousands of followers on Facebook and Instagram.

Let’s start with the man. Here is a little Q&A he did with us.

How long have you been doing this?

Sekure D:A little over 10 years, give or take.

How did you get started?

Sekure D: I used to do graffiti but my University workload minimised my ability to get out and paint late at night, at that point I combined two things I loved, sneakers and painting. I started only making shoes for myself, now, 10 years later, its the basis of my full time career in art.
Why shoes?

Sekure D: I have always been into sneakers since I was young, being a huge Basketball and Michael Jordan fan probably accounted for that. Once I turned 13 I started to work after school so I could buy the pairs I wanted.

What are those other figures on your account?

Sekure D: I am also very into the designer toy scene, its not so big here in Australia but it’s been very successful for me overseas. People might know companies such as Medicom, Kidrobot and Funko. I make custom figures and sets as a part of what I do, it’s a lot of fun.

what is your goal?

Sekure D: I am currently ticking some of them off, I am launching my own designer sock company in the next few months and I am also producing my own designer toys. I have a fortnightly Podcast and YouTube show which have recently launched so its great to be ticking off goals. Outside of what I am currently doing working with brands on collaborative projects is always a goal.

Here is a short video with Sakure putting it on his own words.

Now the work. Here are our favorites from what we found on his pages.
